my hotpoint wd440 won't stop filling. The power has been off, but it has filled up overnight.

2 possible answers faulty cold/solenoid rubber change c/solenoid
the less obvious if your machine connects to the u bend under the sink is water running from sink into machine back siphoning but this water would SMELL
