help ive got a skylight on an extention and it leaks, tried all the diy methods of cold tar ect but it hasnt worked. i cant seem to locate the leak on the roof, any tips on what to do

There could be numerous entries for water , is it a flat roof? ( is so are is it in good condition is it pooling or does it have bubbles? is the roof pitched ? are there missing/ slipped tiles? is the flashing in good condition or dresses properly? what material is the skylight made of ( metal / upvc/ wood) ?

Also try putting flashing above the skylight. Put it on an angle to direct water away from the sky light.

the water maybe comming in from an area away from the skylight and running over the decking and comming out at the skylight. increase the area around the skylight that u apply the cold tar.
