I need to install a new belt to a hoover ca230 but last time the belt jammed and broke. Do I need to figure 8 it?

put belt on starting it on alternator pulley 1st then feed it right round the belt when u get a start on drum wheel use a tie wrap tighten belt on 2 drum wheel then turn the drum round inside the washing machine once the belts on cut the tigh wrap thats all of 20 mins good luck
