We have bought a areial booster and that has only made a clearer picture, could it be the areial?

The box that you have bought seems to be losing Muxes (the channels are grouped into muxes). The problem is either your aerial : not pointing a the transmitter properly, bad connections or the box itself. Freeview needs a good outdoor aerial. Check all, your aerial connections and then, using the box's signal strength meter, try realigning your aerial. If that doesn't fix it see if you can borrow a neighbours box in order to eliminate the box itself.

If you are using the same aerial for digital TV that you used for analogue TV it is quite possible that the aerial is the problem, especially if you have NEVER been able to receive these channels on your digital TV even though the analogue TV did receive them.

If you have a 'grouped' aerial you may need to have it changed for a 'wideband' aerial.

Seek the advice of a LOCAL aerial company as they will be aware of the characteristics of your local transmitters.

Good luck
