I have a VP9608 video recorder which I have protected by a security code. We had a power cut and the video locked oout. It now just comes up "Protected" on the screen and wont even allow me to enter my pin code. Please can anyone advise me what to do as my video is now inoperable. Thanks

Thank you Roger - my one locked just the other day, and as it's so old, and Dixons as a company don't exist anymore, and the various helplines I tried didn't know (or are no longer attainable) I thought we would have to junk it! Your solution worked perfectly! Just make sure you are pressing the 'Up' side of the channel button and not just the middle!

Try pressing Channel Up & OTR simultaneously for 4 or 5 secconds on the machine (not remote control).
