'How to mend it' recommend that you state the item, make and model in the question title.
There are numerous VCRs but you have not helped yourself by saying in the title which one is faulty.
Also in the body of your question you have not stated what you have tried so far.
If you still need an answer please would you repost with a more focused title and description of your issue. Including what you have tried so far (and details of the results). E.g. How do you know that the on-board fuse is sound?
This will help others to provide you with a good response. It will also show that you serious about mending it.
