Potterton Netaheat 10/16 Mk 2 - Erratic ignition, clicking igniter?

My Potterton Netaheat (it's a good age I know) has developed erratic ignition. It does light up, but often after multiple attempts by the igniter and pilot. Pilot light ignites every time the igniter clicks, but main gas flow doesn't follow. After about four or five goes, the main burner lights.

Is it likely that the mercury vapour sensor is out of line with the pilot, or just faulty. It's so expensive, maybe I should get a new boiler. I replaced that switch about ten years ago.

If anyone can help I'd appreciate it. Also, does anyone have an electronic manual for this model please?

Cheers

Weird or what. This trouble started last night, but this morning, it isn't happening. Main gas flow present and ignited at first click. I'm wondering about a dry joint at the back of the relay on the circuit board. The really is in a bad state, hot and burned looking (well, you would be after thirty years, I suppose). I'm going to try and get a new one from an electronics supplier as I've read they're only about £7 rather than the £44 the boiler parts people charge for the same thing. If I can get one, I'll maybe re-solder the joints in its socket.

Any advice would be very welcome...
