I am locked out of my computer?

I am signed as the administrator in the computer but since it's the kids computer I do not use it very much. When I try to sign in to update the computer it did not let me. I have tried all the posible passwords that I used and have'nt had any luck.
I'm running windows 2000. the kids can get in the computer but I can not as the administrator. Can I overwrite the password.
CAN YOU HELP ME?

You could try starting the computer in safe mode (hit F8 before the first sign of windows appears and select Safe Mode) and when the login appears type in the username "Administrator" and that will log you in most of the time and there is an option to reset the password's when you open up the control panel then user accounts.

hi miryan

sorry to tell you this .... unfortunatly you cant bypass the password to administrator account check to make sure you dont have caps lock on when typing or use shift key as the passwords are case sensitive failing that you will have to reinstall the operating system and i would suggest upgrading to microsoft xp
hope this helped
