does not finnish programe. leaves half tablet in bottom of machine and programe light is only on second light from left.somtimes washing comes out clean other times still bits on dishes

I have a Hotpoint BFV62 and I really don't like it. Constantly having problems, most of which are finally explainable but I find it very temperamental. I have finally given up on tablets and use powder but if anthing is within an inch of the rotating arms or the flip bit of the soap dispenser then it doesn't clean very well and tablet doesn't disintegrate. I'm currently trying to get the overflow (error R05) sorted as it's packed in and I'm not prepared to pay £90 for a call out for a dishwasher I don't like. Can any one help?
