how do i get the pilot light on again? Mine has just gone out and i have not got the instruction manual! As it is cold would someone help please!!!!

My pressure keeps rising and hot water only runs when tap opened slightly put it on fast and get cold water, so fustrating with the shower running cold. Can someone gelp

My boiler takes ages to fire up,the orange light comes on when you turn on the hot water tap or click the switch but it has been getting slower, does it have anything to do with the air switch.
Any answer would be great.

hi my alpha 240 boiler, works fine but the pressure needle is going into the red when on 3.5 so I have been turning it off to avoid danger levels. I have bled all the rads. Any suggestions

by mistake i've locked my knob in the middle after the off option exactly in the centre bottom by mistake and now its locked cant move right either left. what should i do please advice?

If your pilot is out and holding the button doesn't fire it up try this.
If the fan runs at low speed, the pump is running and the fan/flue light isn't on. Try accessing the pcbs by removing the 5?screws in the back of the control panel. Lift out the rear of the case. Now try tapping the relay(rectangular plastic box soldered to pcb) near the middle, with the handle of a screwdriver. if it is stuck tapping it should free it up and hopefully relight the pilot.
Eventually it is going to pack up completely but this might help temporarily

.... fi it doesnt work by pushing in the lighter button for a few minutes, it probably means the fuse has gone. Not the plug fuse in the wall - the fuse in the boiler! If you drop down the front you will see a box on the right approx 2x2" if I remember. there are a coyuple of screws to undo and under this is where the fuse goes... these are now plug fuses! Probably best going to a heating company / plumbers merchants and they will give you a pack for a bout £2 for a small box..... or you could call an engineer out who will charge you £50+

Another option is that the filter may need cleaning which means the whole of the front of the boiler has to come off and should be done by corgi registered person

I know my boiler inside out due to problems I've had with it over the past 6 years... British Gas ended up showing me how to fix it!

if youve pushed and held the gas knob in ,the pilot ignition starts after a few seconds, once lit keep gas knob fully in for 30secs then release,pilot should stay lit . If it doesnt repeat operation holding in for 45secs etc if no joy then call an engineer !

I'm having similar problems with my Alpha 240eco boiler. It went out last night and we've got no hot water or heat. I opened the value to increase the pressure and the needle went back into the green zone. I'm not sure what to do next. Does someone have the manual to this? I have the old one, but it's pretty ratty.

You might need to change the pressure. There should be a section which is green. The needle needs to be in this section. If the needle is below that seatch for a tap under the boiler. Turn this and leave open until the needle moves into the right section. This should turn the pilot light on

and for me too, please!
my boiler was working perfectly untill i swiched it off for christmas vacations. Now when selector is swiched to the right (only tab hot water) i'm trying to swich on gas knob. While I'm waiting 60 sekonds the light is on, but then i release and it goes off. It's very cold and no hot water! wHat do i need to do???
