PANASONIC DMR-E55EB?

THE INTERNAL FUSE KEEPS BLOWING NO OTHER SIGNS OF A FAULT,ANY IDEAS
Dave, January 2008
Almost certainly a power board problem. Regulator IC001 gets far too hot during normal operation and is mounted on a totally inadequate heatsink on the board. I would look at this first. Replacements can be obtained online. STRG 6353. Use some heatsink compound on the replacement and consider mounting it on a more effective heatsink. Also check the zener diodes, the regulator may have taken some of those out too. If you are technically minded it is usually quite easy to sort this. You need a decent soldering iron, a bit of skill and the ability to take care. If you are not confident to tackle it, the best advice is to leave it to an engineer. Good luck -
