could be two things I think:
#1. dead screen (broken and needs to be repaired)
or
#2. the video output has been assigned to an external VGA output.
To fix #2,try:
look for the function or ('Fn') button on your keyboard and hold it down and press the ('F5') button - what this does is changes the laptop between using it's own monitor and using one plugged into it or both at the same time.
if that doesn't work,
you'll need to get a computer monitor and plug it into the back of your laptop and see if you get a picture.
if you do,
1.go to 'control panel'
2.go to 'display'
3.go to 'settings'
4.go to 'advanced'
5.go to 'monitors'
6. switch the monitor '2' off by right clicking on it and closing it.
if none of this works - the screen is broken
