Mark. The problem is due to a manufacturing defect in the unit's internal power-supply. All you need to do is replace just a single (undersized) capacitor on it! I wrote a step-by-step repair brief explaining how.
Even those with no electronics background whatsoever can do this repair themselves. The replacement part costs only $1.59 from your local Radio Shack. It takes less than 20 minutes to do the repair.
Email me and I'll gladly send you the full details. There are no charges or fees involved. I wrote this repair brief to help fellow RCA DRC8320N and DRC8335 combo recorder owners whose units have failed from this widespread manufacturing defect.
