I have a Dell 2007 Dimension B110. When I am unable to type, the mouse will sometimes still function. I will then go to Start and restart the PC or if the mouse does not work, I have to turn off the PC. When any or all of that is completed I can then type again. What causes the desktop to not type?

Check that your keyboard USB is plugged in properly. Sometimes its just a little loose and needs to be pushed back in.
