Baxi Combi 80Eco dead?

I have a Baxi Combi 80Eco installed and is less than 3 years old. 10 days ago it packed up, and the engineer who installed it contacted to fix it. He said the PCB was faulty so I ended up buying the PCB.

The engineer installed it and guess what no activity. He said he has checked the air pressure switch, fan, motor, spark electrode, and still does not fire up.

He now suggests that I contact BAXI manufacturer and get one of there engineers.

Is there anybody who can diagnose this problem, before I resort to calling the BAXI engineer

Hi Justin,

Thanks for the reply, it's now been three weeks since the boilder has been down. Like you suggested I am asking around to see if other engineers know about the fault.

I have a nasty feeling the chap looking at it currently is draging his feet in the hope if getting a new boilder out of me.

The PCB cost me £119.18 from Curzon Components (0116 253 0586) local to where I live, you might find it cheaper elsewhere.

Regards

Hansraj

HI Habsraj,

Sounds like you require a second opinion but not from a Baxi engineer just yet.
Ask a few mate to see if they know anyone who could have a look for you. He may look at the problem you have with your boiler and maybe he will look at it from a different angle if you know what i mean. If its completely dead then the fault should be easier to find. In theory !!

Oh, by the way, how much did the PCB cost as i have also been told the problem i have is down to the PCB!?!!
Cheers
