HOW DO I MAKE THE DOWNLIGHTER NOT PERMANTLEY ON?

I TOOK OLD LIGHT OUT NOW A DOWNLIGHTER NO NEED FOR EARTHING HAVE TWO BLACK WIRES, TWO RED, AND TWO EXTRA RED ONES. WITH TAPE ON IT OBVIOUSLY TO HIGHLGHT IT.HAVE WIRED UP LIGHT IS PERMANTLEY ON REGARDLESS OF SWITCHING ON OR OFF PLEASE HELP

Previous reply does not help - I agree if you don't know what you are doing get a qualified electritian in but if you understand this then go for it.

3 reds together, two blacks together and include neutral for light. red taped wire to live for light and thats it.

You have wired it into the 'loop-in' circuit rather than the switched one. As you have managed to do this it suggest that you do not really understand electrical wiring. I suggest that you get an electrician to sort it out quickly as there is no telling what else you may have done.
