Whenever it rains really hard, water runs down the inside of my wall. i suspected the valley which is tiled, was leaking. i got a builder friend to look at it and he can't see any problems. he put some mortar into a few gaps but other than that can't see a problem.
any idea what it might be? Should i have the tiled vally replaced with a lead one and how much would it cost?

Just in case anyone has a similar problem. My house is built of stone in the 60's. overtime it appears that the stone has become porous. So when it rained long and hard, the water came in through the stone, hit the roofing felt and ran down till it came to the outside wall and then ran down the wall, but on the inside. We coated the chimpeny stack with a damp seal and fingers crossed all is ok.
I will coat the entire house over the summer.

have you checked that the outlet is clear? if it is then
your gutter outlet pipe might not be large enough to
cope with a heavy downpour and the water is
coming in over the top once the gutter is full.
if so, replace with a larger downpipe.
