My Brandt washing machine will not wash?

My Brandt washing machine (BB60 WFH 1271 F) will not wash. It starts the process then goes almost immediately to END (FIN) and displays ERR06. It was working well until we moved it to a different apartment where this happens. What can we do?

I turn it on (Brandt BB 60 ) and the lights all come on as they should but the timer doesnt buzz and a lot of nothing happens .Have just put new bearings and joint on the drum and didnt see any loose wires and have put all back where they came from.Think the fault was there before I did this job and suspected the door lock and have repaired it and made it stronger .

Hi Margaret
I have just had the same error (err06) on my Brandt, where the drum did not spin at all. After much searching I found a couple of German forums, which I translated on Google, and found error 6 is a motor failure, and is almost always fixed by fitting new brushes in the motor. I found the brushes online for about £20. Fitted them, and it didn't work. I suspected that this was not the fault when I removed the (eight year) old brushes and they were only half worn!
After further investigation I found a broken wire in the multi-pin plug on the side of the motor (the 3rd one up from the bottom - they're all black). I remade the connection, and the machine now works fine. And I have new brushes too! Here's to another eight years trouble free washing.
My advice is to check the wiring and plugs first, and slip the brushes out to have a look at them. If there's more than a couple of mm left on them, and they're not pitted, then it's probably not that. If your motor has burnt out (unlikely) then it's a Selni motor you need.
I hope this helps you fix your machine, and good luck.
Andrew
