Hi, I have a Mira 723 with usual faults of sticking controls, stiffness with adjusting temperature ring and difficulty turning off the water. Over the past 30-40 years I have twice stripped the unit, thoroughly cleaned all signs of calcium deposit on all surfaces ( do not damage the metal surface of the moving parts). Polish with metal cleaner i.e, Brasso then wash clean before applying the Silicone Grease and installing "O" rings and washers. Avoid using any strength or pressure to the Thermostatic Coil which could if mis-shapen affect its thermal performance. Apply liberal Silicone Grease (supplied in kit) particularly the centre channel. Ensure the central channel is clean and polished. Slowly reassemble to ensure you have no parts left over, then turn it on with contols centred and await the thermostatic coil to reach equilibrium.
Turn around now and pat yourself on the back for a job well done. I am this week 1st July about to overhaul my 723 again for the third time. Not bad approx once every 10-12 years. Best of luck, it is so simple to do and enjoyable. Ray.
