How can I fix the screen on my DVD?

I own a Polaroid DVD Player PDV-0700. The screen has gone white with a strip of black. I can hear the movie, but can't see it. Can this be fixed?

I have the same problem, same model. In this case my daughter played music CDs on it with the screen up for a long period of time. Now the screen is black. No info came with it regarding such a problem. Guess I'll try to contact Polaroid.
