Vtech Mouse?

Has anyone got the wiring connections for a Vtech Kids Laptop mouse.
Unfortuntely the cable has been pulled out from the mouse itself.
The mouse is a silver and blue model. With an RJ45 type plug on the cable end. The pcb in the mouse has 14 possible solder connections so i'm stumped.

I know that this post is a bit old, but could you guide me if it is possible to wire a normal USB/PS2 mouse with the RJ45 for this product?

dereland's wiring sequence works perfectly for the beige and silver mouse that comes with the Vtech Genius XL Challenger game - the kids had ripped the cable right out of the back of the mouse, and once resoldered, it worked perfectly again. Thanks for posting the colour codes above.

do anyone know where i can get the mouse with the rj45 connector at

Hi, I had a problem with the mouse in two places. The black wire going from the small pcb inside the mouse out was loose - in fact the solder appeared to have degraded and the metal of the lead corroded by something. I also found a similar bad connection at the microswitch under the mouse button - but you have to dismantle the mouse totally and re-solder both connections. The swg of the wire used by vtech is not appropriate for a children's device. Anyway, thanks for leading me in the right direction!

Thanks for this information Dereland. My son's Vtech laptop mouse wouldn't work, I opened it and found two loose wires. You information was bang on!!!

Thanks a lot!
