sony vcr just stopped working?

hi i have had this sony vcr for about 18 months (model no SLV-SE830G) with so called smart engine whatever that is. Any way went to use it last night and it was just dead no lights no nothing. I have changed the fuse in the plug but still nothing. Has anyone come across this before or resolved a similar issue any help would be appeciated thx

Sometimes they recieve a power glitch and it locks up the micro-processor and if you leave it un-plugged for a few hours and try again it might reset and come on ,my units do that all the time!

Neil, there could be a fuse mounted on the circuit board inside the VCR. Failing that, I couldn't advise without seeing it. It may pay you to take it to a local repair centre.
