When this happened to me I put the machine on the table and took the covers off and looked to see what was stopping the tape from coming out when I pressed eject.
The first thing to happen is that the tape is moved off the rotating read/write head and pulled back into the cassette. Then the cassette is lifted up and pushed out of the letterbox.
By having a good look and a gentle poke around you may not necessarily fix the problem but you might manage to release a jamb in the mechanism and get it working again. There is no "magic" button to press.
It might be a problem with the machine mechanics or electrics and it might just be a problem with the single cassette that's misbehaving.
