hey country girl ,i install satellite tv for dish network ,the problem your having is not that uncommon after you get hit by lightning ,,if your satellite is running into your tv by the coax input when the the storm hit most likely that input on your tv has been damaged leaving the RCA inputs or comp. inputs undamaged most of the time i would just change the way the sat. and vcr are connected to the tv ie..rca cables or comp cables instead of coax if this doesn't work you need to have the tv serviced ...I would suggest that you purchase a surge protector to help prevent this in the future.. i recommend a PANAMAX brand surge protector they are cheap in price depending on the size you get.. stay away from the other brands like Monster cable and all the others your just buying a name with that stuff Panamax has the best warranty and they stand behind it I promise because i had a customer that bought one and got hit the same as you did he filed a claim with panamax and they covered everything that was plugged into the surge protector up to $50,000 , nothing on the planet can protect anything 100% from lightning don't let anyone tell you anything different ..well i hope i have been some help. good luck...........
