My goodmans ld2650hd has power (red light comming on). When i try to turn on it does not come off standby and the red light flashes. Any ideas or anyone had the same problem?

Thanks it was the C315 Capacitor used a 16volt at 1000uf.

hi the problem is a cupasiter witch is on the power bord it is 24volt at 1000uf but you can use a 16volt at 1000uf and that will sort it out hope this helps you

Wayne's answer Sep 2008... There is a place in liverpool what does the repairs for £50.00 or sell you the repair kit £15 pounds. And they will sell you a refurbished board for £65.00.
Robs Answer Aug 2008... The capacitor is not C315 it Is C330 as liste as part of the repair kit. he turned over the board to remove C330 and saw the number C315. The capacitor C330 is hard to see as it is under the, square part of the heat sink with a 4mm hole in it. If you look under the heat sink toward the white socket S301 you will see the cap number with a line to it..
befor replacing any parts check TR20 primary, it should read 2.7mH/4.0-Ohms.
My fault is consistant with Robs but I also notice that on the input side to the power board C362-1000mF-400V-85 degrees centigrade, Is also standing a little proud so I am replacing that aswell.

My set is running now I may install a quiet fan to keep the temp town as an experiment as this problem has happened on sets 1 and 2 years old.

Same thing happened to mine a few weeks ago and the TV was only 2 years old. According to the TV repair shop, the power unit had gone. Cost me £65 to get it repaired.

you will most probley have to reprogram the remotecontrol back in so the tv comes out of standby.

I had the same fault which turned out to be Power Unit Capacitor C315 1000mFd 25volt, rated at 85 degrees centigrade. Its mounted near the heat sink. Look for a slightly domed top of capacitor C315 aluminium case. It should be absolutely flat.
Usual safety rules should be followed. In addition disconnect from the mains while working on the power panel. Give the large electrolytic capacitors time to discharge.
