I'm afraid I have to agree with Jo 100%. This is basic electrical safety knowledge and if you don't know this the best you can hope for is a shock strong enough to burn. At the worse you could well be smoking worse than a burnt resistor. Its no joke.

Yes, it is true that the CRT type television should be discharged before work starts, but I am hesitant to tell you how because if you knew what you were doing you wouldn't need to ask this question. I do not wish to be even partly responsible for any trouble you may land in.
