RCD problems?

i changed a consumer unit and put the 2 lighting on the switch side of the split load and the ring on the RCD side but the down stairs lighting is triping the RCD

Hi,
it is possible that you have mixed the Neutral wires up. In other words you have connected the lighting circuit neutral onto the RCD section of the neutral bar. This will cause the trip to operate when any light on this circuit is turned on. Check that the lighting neutrals are connected only to the 'Unprotected' side of the neutral bar. The remainder of the power circuits should be connetced to the RCD protected section of the neutral bar. Make sure that the two sections of the neutral bar are NOT linked together.
