None of these options has worked for me; does anyone know where to get a replacement fan with the yellow wire? It needs 3 wires; red, black and yellow

Had the same problem. I unplugged the system, checked the fan (it was stucked) cleaned and made sure it was spinning. Turned it on and... voilaaa! It is running like knew. Thanks a lot for your help.

Just checked my fan...and sure enough it was not turning.
Cleaned it good...put it back in...and now it works great! Bought it at a Garage Sale for $2.

THANKS FOR THE TIP!

I just finished repairing mine. After a lot of trial and error I noticed the fan wasn't rotating. I powered up while turning fan with my finger and wouldnt you know, no error. I replaced the fan and no problems so far. I have this feeling that the F in F61 stands for Fan. LOL!

i was preparing to check the items listed above [cooling fan, capacitors, and anything else that visually appeard amiss], when it occurred to me to double check my speaker connections, [which i can't swear were good or bad, i just re-dressed them], and as i powered it up the next time, i made certain the volume control was turned to minimum. it now works every time, and i never had to open the case- so, if any of you are getting the f-61 code, i would suggest checking your external connections and start your unit with the volume at minimum before proceeding to open the unit! it was that simple, for me, anyway
