how do i tune in a second-hand pre-tuned VCR to my TV?

play back is ok on pre-recorded tapes, however, when i select a program on the VCR and press record,i cannot find a selected channel to view the recorded program? i'm assuming since the VCR has already been installed on a TV set,i would not have to tune it in? the make & model is a SHARP VC-MH705!

This is easy done but my memory is bad not done this for three years to enter factory default is either holding ch up or down with either power or menu for about four seconds it will say please wait. If you tried all possible combinations try it in standby When you find which one post here you will be able to set up the channels. If the vcr has rf interferance in standby hold menu until it flashes rf use ch up or down to change from 36 (factory default) to desired channel then press set

Go to the menu on the VCR and re-scan the TV channels
