Green and yellow wire loose?

Hello, I am in France and I have a light on the wall. The blue and red wires are connected but the green and yellow one is actually just hanging loose with one end in the air. Would I get a shock if I touched it? Does it need to be reconnected somewhere in the plug?

you dont need to use that wire just simply cap it. but before you repair anything turn off your power before making any repairs.

just thought id say that i think that mik meant a green and yellow wire as in green and yellow stripes.

if so then it is a standard earth wire and just needs reconnecting

well first of all yes you can get shocked. always asume all wires all hot. connect the green wire, thats your ground.Thats very important. The yellow wire, get a wire nut and cap it off. If your light is working good then its probably an abandon wire,or an extera wire pulled accidently. yellow in that application is a switchleg, but your light is working right? so its not that. the only other thing it could be is a wire for a 480/277 voltage system, you dont have that so cap it off and be done.
