i don't now the name,when i want to lock the door i should lift the door handle up then lock the door.it doesn't work.so i have to pull the handle down then i lock the door .this way the door almost is open.the lock smith people said that the gearbox is broken and you have to change it.i dont now what is the gearbox.is it the cilinder.

no its the part of the lock the cylinder goes through,you have to take full lockstrip out to replace this and you have to have the right 1 or it wont fit as there many makes and sizes,so if your doing it yourself make sure you know what your doing as you might have a door that wont lock,hope this helps
