I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH VISTA. I DISABLED WINDOWS DEFENDER JUST BFORE INSTALLING DOWNLOADS & ENABLE WHEN DONE. OR IT COULD BE WINDOWS FIREWALL, CHECK IN FIREWALL TO SEE IF YOU HAVE ALLOWED WINDOWS UPDATE IN YOUR LIST OF EXCEPTIONS?
