Epson Perfection 2480 - cannot communicate with scanner?
Running Vista but also had problem on XP. Getting message to say cannot communicate with scanner and sometimes a twain error message. Have uninstalled, reinstalled, downloaded drivers from Epson - all to no avail. Any ideas?
Tip - if you have unistalled a webcam at any time (esp a Logitech) - reinstall it! Took me many valium sandwiches to work it out!!

I have the very same problem in one of the two computers I use at home,in one no problem in the other I have uninstalled, download last drivers, re-install..... no way.

Check that the lock is not on, under the scanner there is a switch that can be slid to unlock.

had a similar problem when I connect the printer/scanner via a USB hub (would print OK but wouldn't scan) Ensure the USB cable from the printer/scanner is plugged directly in the PC USB port
