i have a sky plus box and it has just packed up it lets you do all the settings then just switches off the box is a amstrad drx180 thankyou will be very grateful if sombody can answer this for me. ps it also when it turns off the tv goes off as well.

sounds like a hard drive fault, follow the steps below you may need two people:-
1/ remove the supply (switch off at the mains)
2/ hold down the left and right button simultaniously, (these are between the select button), keep hold of the buttons untill all the green replay lights are on.
3/ let go and press the select button.
4/ wait two mins and press standby.
THIS IS A HARD DRIVE RESET.

common problem is the hardrive, can cause them problems dunno about the tv though
