My spin cycle is slow, how can I fix it?

I have a Kenmore washer 80 series. The spin cycle is very crazy to say hte least. When it spins it does so slowly that the clothes are wringing wet. I have checked the motor coupler and it is not broken. CAN THE COUPLER BE WORN out and produce the same effect as a broken one? I need help cause I'm trying to save a precious dollar that I don't have. HELP!!!!!

Problem was with the clutch. Change it out and it is working fine. The only problem is that I have to change the timer out as well. Other than that, the clutch did the trick
