New Toshiba 32 inch TV picture not centered?

I just purchased a new Toshiba 32 inch TV, model 32A33, that plays well but the picture seems to be slightly off center in relation to the picture tube.

It is really noticable if the program has the black bars at the top and bottom of the screen; the black bar at the top of the screen is at least 1/4 to 1/2 inch wider on the left than on the right side. Also, when you pull up the menu, the menu frame is slightly off center in relation to the tube. Its kind of like a picture hanging slightly crooked on a wall.

Its not real bad but it is noticable.

Is this something I can adjust?

Thanks.

Occasionally, on large widescreen crt TV's, the manufacturer includes a picture tilt adjustment sometimes called geometric adjustment. If it's there, it should be stated in the instruction book, or check under the control flap on the TV for the feature.

Don't know the model but not aware of Toshiba including the feature on their TV's (at least not in the UK models).

Ask your dealer, or contact Toshiba direct to verify if there is such adjustment. If there isn't then it's possible the scan coils are misaligned on the cathode ray tube. If it's that noticable, especially on a new TV, I would insist that the dealer replace the product or repair it free of charge. The tube is the most expensive component in the TV. I wouldn't accept a sub-standard product.
