How do I fix My Worcester Bosch 28i rsf combi?

When the heating tries to come on it is like the ignition isn't catching properly. However I took the front cover off and the flame does come on momentarily then goes out. The ignition has also started making a strange clicking noise. The Boiler is only about 4 years old. We have been in the house less than a year and had no problems with it.

The heating cuts out, and combi shuts down
When hot water tap is running and heating is turned on the pressure starts to rise, and there is a loud banging noise for several seconds then the combi shuts down, pressure rise's about 1/2 bar

28i rsf c/heating goes off the only way to get it on again is to run the hotwater, heating then stay on

Thanks so much all.
Got my boiler working a week before christmas following the wd40 on the fan advice. and its snowing hard outside.

I'd just like to add to my original post that WD40 is flamable, be very careful!

In my case the fault kept recurring, it looked like a design fault in the the way the fan is fixed to the unit. I had to replace the fan the following month and the new fan has sturdier fixings.

Our 28i has the same problem. No hot water and a rapid clicking noise when the heating is selected. The radiators hardly reach tepid temp. When I turn the hot tap off the boiler fires up, and off again when the tap is turned on! However this problem is intermittent as the next day it works fine. Other times the shower will work hot for around 5 min before turning cold, very annoying.

My ignition suddenly stopped working yesterday morning. I worked out it was the fan that wasn't working, although it's electro-magnet defintely was, it just wouldn't turn.

I tried WD40 this morning, and although it did fail again a bit later, after some more WD40 it seems to be working fine, I've just had a shower and the hot water never failed :o)

try putting wd40 on the fan at the top right hand corner, then turn it a little being carefull. switch on the hot water, and hopefully it should be working.

you say heating, what about hot water?
if it works on h/w suggest problem on low gas rate for heating.
