Whats wrong with my Sony NW-A3000 MP3 player??
Sony 20GB Digital Music Player NW-3000
My MP3 player will not start up, when i press any of the buttons to switch it on, the buttons glow like usual, but the screen does nothing, after about a second it seems to go dead, then after another couple of seconds it attempts to switch on again, this time the 'artist link' button in the top left corner also glows, but as before it switches itself off and then does nothing. It cannot be recharged or connected to the computer.
This problem is probably my fault, I had accidently pressed the 'hold' button too hard and it had gotten stuck inside the machine, I tried to pry the back off, then I found out how to remove it properly and did so, I then removed the circuit board and re-attatched the hold button. I re-assembled it again, reconnecting all 4 ribbon-wires and the battery.
2 things im worried about,
1. when i removed the battery there seemed to be some smoke or fumes produced, a small amount and only for a second or so before I quickly unplugged it from the circuit board.
2. The circuit board had 4 ribbon connections to various other devices, but it also has a connection in the bottom corner that I believe I broke when I removed it.
I searched the site but was unable to find any similar problems, I hope somone can help me.
