Hi Colon, first is your system recognizing your scanner. Click on "Start" "Control Panel" "System" then select the tab "Hardware" then "Device Manager". It should appear in the category "Imaging Devices". If you see it listed and there is no check mark next to it then your computer knows it's there. If not, you will need to reload the drivers. Just insert the scanner cd and it should start by itself. The follow the instructions on the screen. If you don't have the disk go to Google and search using your Scanner name and model followed by a (/) and "Driver"/"Download". Hope this helps.
