how do I stop my push button toilet overflowing into the pan?

My problem is finding how to remove the cistern cover to get to the valve - does the button unscrew or do you push and turn it help would be much appreciated

Had the same issue, mine unscrewed, just rotate it anti c/w then remove, remove lid. My inlet valve was worn and needed replacing hence the constant flushing, wasnt shutting down properly to stop flow coming in.

Good luck.

One cause of this is the chain setup. Make sure that the chain to the push button is not too tight. If it is too tight then the rubber seal will be not flush and leak into the pan as described.
