When installing XP and getting to Register Windows XP and clicking dial via modem I get the message call centre is temporarily unavailable. How can I register by telephone and where can I find the telephone number.

There is an option to register by telephone. You select the option on the register page, then select the region you are calling from then you will be presented witha page showing a toll free number in the uk,ring the number and listed carefully to the instructions and enter the series of numbers,that you need to enter on your telephone keypad. Following this the MS phone line will check the keyed number and then generate a new number which you then enter in the blank boxes on you screen. at the ebnd you click finish and it ais all done. sound s lingwinded but actaully only takes about 5-6 minutes and it is toll free.

There is no option on the registration page to register by telephone only via the modem.

Are you on the Internet via your modem when you try to register? If you click on register by phone it should give you the phone number.
