Zanussi WDJ1500 filling continuously?

Hi,

I have a Zanussi WDJ1500 washer/dryer which is filling continuously, and not continuing on with the cycle.

I've had an engineer out who cleaned out the filter and a pipe leading out of there, and for a couple of washes it was working again.

Unfortunately, less than a week later, it's doing the same again.

I'm pretty sure I can work out which bit is the manifold air pressure chamber, but I'm not sure how to remove this to clean it out again.

Also, if all the gunk has been cleaned out from there, is there anything else I should check to see if the problem is elsewhere?

Thanks in advance.

A further update:

Ran the boil wash and it completed the cycle successfully.

Put the machine back together and put in a load on a 40° wash.

It got as far as rinsing, then didn't stop filling again.

Any more ideas?

Thanks for your reply, ck.

Unfortunately, our kitchen is so small that I couldn't get around to the other side (base) of the machine to see what he was doing.

He ran a stiffish piece of cord through from somewhere inside to the front of the filter, which removed a lot of gunk.

He then blew through from a pipe he'd connected somewhere inside which came out at the front.

I've taken the back off now and found two tubes running off the manifold. One of them runs up to one of two parts which look like pictures of pressure switches I've seen on the web.

I've taken the tube off there, blow through it successfully and also attached a tube to the switch and blown into it, producing an audible click.

I've tried a test wash and that managed to stop filling, so hopefully I've made some progress.

I'm trying an empty 90° cycle now, with detergent, which will hopefully clean the innards out a bit.

the air chamber is not removable if its part of the manifold.not the easiest of areas to clean so how did the engineer do this as total removal is required and a hose pipe to flush air chamber.total manifold replacement is less than £25 on most models.
