How can I enable wireless on my fujitsu pc please?

Have just had to re-install operating system on my daughters Fujitsu PC. How do I enable wireless operation please? I am sending this from my own computer, not hers.

there is one more, by pressing the Fn button and a "F" key (F1, F2 etc) it acts as the switch Ian said about, its more comenly F12,

Hope i'm not stating the obvious, but some laptops have a button on the side or rear to turn on wireless.

internet or both?
