HOW TO REPLACE DOUBLE GLAZING LOCKS?

I have a double glazing window lock, that when you move the handle up to open the window, the lock mechanism does not operate and the window is permanently locked.

Does the lock need replacing or can it be repaired and how to do it.

I am NOT very good at DIY.

Thanks Alan

It is very likely that it is simply the handle. There is a square section bar attached to the back of the handle, which will loosen over time with frequent use. Remove the handle and tap the square section bar back into the handle with a hammer or replace the handle assembly with one from another window, ideally one which you don't open (swap them over).
