panasonic tv(tx-w32r4dp) goes to standby whenever its switched on.when you try to use remote to get it off standby it lasts 2 seconds then goes back to standby.Basically tv wont get out of standby mode,tv is 9 years old.

The most common cause of the symptoms on that model is failure of the frame output i.c. IC451. (est. £50-60 repair.)

Not an answer, but I have a tx-w28r also about 9 yrs which comes on for a few minutes before going to stand-by. My repairer? says that a Rom checks all appendages and if it finds something it turns the tv off. He says that parts are no longer available to repair it but i'm hoping he is wrong (lazy)
