How can I unlock my keyboard Packard Bell easyNote laptop?

Hi
The keyboard on the easynote laptop has stopped functioning.
I don't know if I have locked it by accident or how to unlock it.
In the control panel, the keyboard says it is all installed and devices are working properly. The touchpad and mouse is still working fine, but I cannot type or use funtion keys.
Anybody got any clues how to unlock or what might have happened?
Thanks Lisa

power down and remove the battery. then press the power-on key for 20-25 seconds.
replace the battery and power on; Normal operation should resume.

Hi my daughter has a similar problem, with her Toshiba laptop. Originally we thought the keyboard was locked but it now seems it's the Ctrl key which is locked, if we open up Internet Explorer & press T we get a new tab, etc etc.

Although I have not managed to solve the problem, I have managed a work around by using onscreen keyboard which can be found in accessories > Accessability & then clicking the Ctrl key on & off on the onscreen keyboard allows us to then use the laptop keyboard as normal, while this procedure has to be done each time we re start her laptop.

I havent seen any laptop that has a functionality to disable keyboards. So bearing that in mind, it could either be a spillage of some sort, or a problem in Windows. Try getting into the BIOS by tapping F2 key at the top of the keyboard as soon as you switch your laptop on. If it goes into a mode where there are all sorts of things (or BIOS if you are familiar with it!), then your keyboard is functioning, the problem lies elsewhere. If nothing happens and you are sure that you started tapping as soon as you turned your laptop on, then I would suggest that a replacement keyboard should in most cases be resolved. Be sure that there has been no spillage because a spillage could have also damaged something else in the laptop too.

Hope this information helps...
