water leaking from brass pipe on combi boiler?

i have a worcester 240 srf combi boiler, water is spurting out from a brass pipe at the top, it appears to be coming out of a hole in what looks like a car dustcap. does anyone know what is causing this?

could the item being described be an auto air vent rather than expansion vessel??????

it sounds like your expansion tank is faulty or in need of repressurisation as a plumber of twenty years i stress do not attempt to do this yourself it is not a diy repair i know plumbers can be expensive but you really need an haeting enginner ( idid gas for 15 years) and a mainstream plumber would not normally have the know how to do this repair if your lucky repressure if not dont xpect change out of #200 quid
but htats cheap compared to doing it yourself cos you could easily wreck your boiler all parts on combies are xpensive and
i stress all work must by law be carried out by a suitably qualified person the days of diy boiler repairs have gone
