My Advent 3111 keeps re-booting itself?

My Advent 3111 keeps re-booting itself. I recently removed Norton 360 because every time I tried to run the virus check it shut down. I installed AVG Free and it detected a Trojan which it quarantined. The pc is working better now but still keeps re-booting itself intermittently. Any ideas?

Further to my answer earlier in the month, the power supply would be a good idea first, there is a switching volatage control unit inside it. These play up, but it is more likely to be the motherboard continuity.

Yes most probably the motherboard. These pc's do rather suffer with motherboard problems. The Athlon XP processors using these socket A motherboards are like tghe earlier Intel socket 478 based advent and emachines with the usual motherboard problems. i do have a "fix" for these and my support pages on my ebay at SIAN8401 or email me
