AEG Lavamat 86720 wont fill?

My machine makes a clicking noise where water should enter machine. It is not taking in any water. My machine is too old for me to want to spend out on a repair. Is there any thing I can try to do to get it filling please?

it will require a new detergent dispencer top/lid and they are expensive.the motor on the top gets out of sink.not an easy diy but can be done.about £60 for part.fitted ?????.
