i have the medion md8830 computer but i had problems with it so i tried to get back to factory settings but it came up with error recovery folder missing now i have no sound on playback i tried to do a fresh install of vista but cant

it sounds like your sound card drivers need a fresh install so if you have a copy of them on disc then go into "control panel" then "add and remove programs" and uninstall them first. then use the disc to install them fresh again. (if you don't have them on disc try searching for the drivers of your specific sound card on the net and download them)
